Personal Upbringing

  • Eldest son of Eritrean refugees, born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and shaped by the experience of living in Eritrea during his teenage years.

  • Heavily influenced by his father’s entrepreneurial journey, with early experiences helping in the family business.

  • Holds degrees from the University of Alberta (BA Hons.), the London School of Economics (MSc), and Harvard Business School (MBA, High Distinction, and Baker Scholar).

  • A world traveler, having lived and worked in London, New York, Boston, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, and now calling Vancouver home with his wife of 12 years, Tara.
